Steel design for a long-span warehouse, including portal frame analysis and wind loading.
A long-span steel warehouse using portal frames to keep the internal floor area as free of columns as possible.
The frames were analysed under gravity and wind loading, with bending moment and axial force diagrams produced across each span to select steel sections and design the connections, and column sway was checked against the allowable limit.
