Analysis and design of a five-storey hotel, with internal forces checked throughout the frame.
A five-storey reinforced concrete hotel with guest rooms repeating floor to floor.
The building was analysed as a full three-dimensional model, giving axial forces in every column and moments in every beam span. Sections and reinforcement were then sized position by position rather than using one section throughout, which brought the material quantities down.
